Machop sketch

Another pokémon, yaaaaay. This time is Machop. He’s the kind of Pokémon that I would never put in my party at the game, but it would fit perfectly in-story.

Machop is the only Pokémon besides Scott that talks, so that makes them kind of best friends. He would be found in a route before Mt. Moon. I know it’s not the default place where we find these pokémon, but Henry’s Machop is an abandoned pokémon. He was in another team, but his trainer thought he wouldn’t become a strong machop so he left him behind.

Machop actually is not as strong as the others of his own race, but this doesn’t make him weak or a bad fighter. Because of his limitations, he uses his own agility and always pays attention at the environment to think strategically and use the situation against the opponent.

Since he can talk, Machop usually argue with Henry a lot, specially during battle. They are great friends to each other, but at the same time they fight a lot. Maybe it’s because they have too much in common. At first, Machop was very mistrustful with Henry and the other trainers, but he learned that not all humans are bad like his last trainer. He then became very loyal and a great teammate.

Henry doesn't like giving too different nicknames to his pokémon, so he just calls him Mac.
